I think the cold is affecting my brain. I don't remember how cold it was when I took this pic, I know it is 14 (-10C) right now and I really have no desire to go back out and shoot. So, looking at this pic the morning after I can say it feels like coming home drunk with someone and seeing them for the first time in the morning. (no I have never done that)
Okay, so I do not like the composition, maybe if I was about 30' to the left and on the other side of the bridge, maybe a better angle? I don't know, don't do architectural shots all that often.
Post My new favorite process, turning to B&W and adding a color layer above ( how-to) Chris is bored on Flickr: Posted a Photo

Getting down on the ground with the ducks!
I thought the squirrels at the Cades Cove Store were beggars, they have nothing on these ducks! They will swarm you.... or is that flock you? ; - )
Found at the Bicentennial Park in Maryville, Tn.... part of the Greenway.
Post: Not much, little color correction and some sharpening (how-to) halpics2 on Flickr: Posted a Photo
Chesney from Model Mayhem- MM# 1234338 Great job Chesney! No post processing on her eyes, they really look like that. It's the reason I use a kiss of flash in most of my shots, to bring out the eyes better. ISO 400- 1/100s- f5.6...Nikkor 24-120 VR...available light plus SB800 on camera 45 degrees up with supplied diffuser dome at minus 1.3 power. Chris is bored on Flickr: Posted a Photo

Jan 07 2010, first snow of the new year in the valley. Downtown , or should I say uptown Maryville, looking into Alcoa. The road had recently been salted but the slush was still hazardous, especially down the hill infront of me.
Oh yeah, caught the light in the middle of changing, the red is still lit, slightly. Oh yeah, dirty windshield too.
Post: A lot of glare on the windshield so... Converted to B&W via Nik Silver Efx with high structure, green filter Recolored with original in layer above set to color mode Masked out the Red of the stop light in the B&W (was blacked out) Sharpen image via Nik Sharpener Pro, masking out sky and lights Brightened road and snow via Curves with a mask
You know what, here is a walk through Chris is bored on Flickr: Posted a Photo

Predawn, looking onto downtown Maryville Tn. The bright light in the sky is a street light while the rosette below it is a snowflake.
Post Very little, selective boost of saturation on the lights only, masking out the sky. Chris is bored on Flickr: Posted a Photo

So, would you like to know what it is like to be near-sighted?
Here is an example of the benefits of shooting in RAW. With some selective tone mapping (only on the post) I brought in some sharp details but the sky was blown out. Well, no it wasn't, there was enough detail in the 16bit RAW to pull the blue sky back.
I also tried a new sharpening technique that I learned from the HDR group. Basically I created a composite layer and applied a High Pass filter and set the blend mode to vivid light. It did pick up some of the grass in the background so I just masked out everything except the post. ShanahCook on Flickr: Posted a Photo
